This research is an attempt to reconstruct a history of ethnic interactions and integrations for about two hundred years (C. 1700-1880s) within Jama River basin of North Shewa. The interactions were characterized by conflicts in which the Oromo had the upper hand at the initial stages but that position was over taken by the Amhara after awhile.
